I AM AN ACTIVIST. It's not only what I do; it's who I am. Not long ago I was a wife, a home-owner and a full time photographer in Seattle. When my dream of doing marine conservation and direct-action activism was offered to me, I gave up my "American Dream" and followed my heart. This blog is my story of how changing your life is possible; how fulfilling your dreams can be a reality.
The Cove
On November 1st, 2010, I boarded a plane to Osaka, Japan; my life would never be the same. I served as the Sea Shepherd Cove Guardian Campaign Leader in Taiji, a small fishing village in the Wakayama Prefecture that participates in an annual slaughter of dolphins. Every day, from November 2010 through March 2011, I watched dolphins die and listened to their screams as they were murdered at the hands of my species. These photos, while some are graphic, are an essential form of raising awareness. Please, watch the documentary, The Cove, for further information.
